Ex Type 1X S807, - 1 photo.
I extend my thanks to Mr. Klaus-Dieter Werth for providing information concerning this boat.
She
is actually NOT a German type 1X, as I had originally thought, but was laid down
in Holland 03-09-1939.
She
was still incomplete when the Germans overran Holland in 1940, and was
eventually completed and put into
service
with the "Kreigsmarine" as UD5 on 26-04-1941.
She
survived WW11 and was handed back to the Dutch in May 1945 when she was
re-commissioned into their
Naval
service as "S807".
